We had our annual Opet Festival last week. Each year in ancient Egypt, when the Nile flooded its banks, work in the fields stopped, and all levels of the social pyramid came together to honor the Pharaoh and his patron god, Amon Re. To simulate that in our classroom, each student had a role (Pharaoh, government official, scribe, and so forth) and everyone got to partake in some station learning.
