Kingdom of Kush Act-it-Out

I had several students create a two minute skit to act out the civilization of Kush and their leaders/customs.

They worked outside for 2 minutes to create their skits. When they returned, many of them had props. This group cracked me up. Check out their "added leaves". So funny.

Enjoy.

The Opet Festival

We had our annual Opet Festival last week. Each year in ancient Egypt, when the Nile flooded its banks, work in the fields stopped, and all levels of the social pyramid came together to honor the Pharaoh and his patron god, Amon Re. To simulate that in our classroom, each student had a role (Pharaoh, government official, scribe, and so forth) and everyone got to partake in some station learning.

Here are some pictures!
